Jason Von Flue - Live Wire
Jason Lee “Live Wire” Von Flue was born on August 1st, 1975 in San Luis Obispo, California. Jason trained from an early age in submission wrestling and jiu jitsu.
Von Flue received an invitation to appear on the second season of Spike TV’s The Ultimate Fighter with a chance to win a six-figure multi-fight contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. After Josh Burkman, a fighter on the opposing team, had to drop out due to injury, Von Flue switched teams to fight under Matt Hughes for the remainder of the tournament. His first bout was as a severe underdog against Jorge Gurgel, but Von Flue was able to pull off an upset win. Despite winning that battle, Hughes traded Von Flue back to Rich Franklin’s team after another player left the Franklin team. Although Von Flue ended up losing his semi-final match against Joe Stevenson, he was given a UFC contract based on his exciting performances.
Von Flue appeared at Ultimate Fight Night 3, defeating Alex Karalexis with a submission. This win would be the last for Von Flue through his next few performances as he lost to Luke Cummo, Joe Riggs and Cung Le successively with a win over Eric Wray to break the losses up.
